Roz Savage set to conquer the Pacific with MarineTrack back onboard!

“Taking it once stroke at a time”

Last year Roz Savage embarked on her biggest challenge yet to become the first woman in history to row solo across the Pacific Ocean, alone in her 24-foot rowboat, the Brocade.

After succeeding in her mission across the Atlantic Ocean, Roz was devastated when just 4 days into her epic adventure across the Pacific, due to last 6,700 miles over 3 months; she was forced to abandon ship and return to land, leaving her boat bobbing about in the ocean. Thanks to her MarineTrack unit, the boat was retrieved and is once again set to face the ocean waves.

Due to embark on this epic journey at the end of May, Roz intends to put as many miles as possible between her and dry land before the headwinds pick up again. “The dream is to leave from under the Golden Gate Bridge, but if time is wearing on and there is no sign of suitable weather, anywhere on the western seaboard will do”.

“People have been asking me how I am feeling as I prepare to relaunch my Pacific bid” say Roz. “My honest answer is this: I haven't had time to think about it. Having succeeded once before is a big confidence-booster. But there again, I've also failed once before, so I take nothing for granted. I'm just staying focused in the present and doing what needs to be done to get me to the launch, as well-prepared as I can be for a safe and successful crossing”

Once again MarineTrack are proud to support Roz on her mission and wish her a safe and successful voyage. Damian McCann, Sales and Marketing Manager of MarineTrack says “ Roz is an inspirational sportsman and adventurer and we are chuffed to be involved in her challenge; all of us here at MarineTrack hope she succeeds and succeeds with style”.
