Executive Chairman

Over the last 30 years Stuart has witnessed the technological evolution of the shipping industry, from the demise of morse and telex as a young deck officer, to the introduction of internet as a serving deep sea Master.

When he came ashore Stuart bootstrapped StratumFive, then a vessel tracking and remote monitoring software company. A decade later, StratumFive now serves 12,000 vessels and 450 shipping companies. He is a Non-Executive Director, an industry author, a Fellow of the Nautical Institute and Younger Brethren of Trinity House.

Ross Martin

Chief Executive Officer

As Chief Executive Officer of StratumFive, Ross is responsible for the global operations of the company. Since 2011 he has been living and breathing StratumFive with a focus on developing and delivering technology-driven solutions, providing outstanding customer service, and driving continuous company growth.

Prior to making his mark on StratumFive and the commercial shipping industry, Ross enjoyed a rich and varied career, including leadership positions in a blue-chip pharmaceutical company and a successful career in the music industry.

Jeff McHugh


Jeff is responsible for the technological vision of StratumFive, using innovation to transform complex problems into opportunities and results.  With a career spanning over two decades, his unique experience spans a diverse set of industries and technology stacks. Early career positions at Merrill Lynch and Simon & Schuster included leadership roles and developing high performance e-commerce and hedge-fund trading applications. Later he managed a team of developers building bespoke IoT applications using the Google Cloud Platform and related Google technologies.

Having spent the previous several years with FleetWeather, modernising its technology and applications, Jeff now oversees StratumFive’s talented team of developers, whose expertise include high performance data processing, cross-platform UI applications, big-data, AI / ML, weather analytics, IoT, onboard sensors, and cloud computing.

Daniel Feniuk


Dan joined StratumFive in June 2018, in order to drive the financial strategy of the business.  He oversees all aspects of the accounting functions, from credit control to tax related matters.

Dan’s main goals are to establish and maintain the fantastic relationships StratumFive have with their clients and suppliers, as well as meeting the rapid growth targets of the business and it’s investors.

Prior to joining StratumFive, Dan has enjoyed a successful career in the property sector and has experience managing and delivering fiscal success to a number of international corporations.
